Parents denied own daughter important therapy 18-year-old cancer patient died
A young Italian woman with cancer, who was treated according to theories of the German "miracle healer" Hamer, has died. Actually, the doctors of the 18-year-old had come for a chemotherapy, but the parents rely on the methods of the self-proclaimed "cancer healer" who has lost his medical license 30 years ago.
Many cancers are easily treatable
The diagnosis of cancer is always a serious stroke of fate for those affected, especially since the treatment options were limited for a long time. In recent years, however, tumor therapy has made tremendous progress and many cancers are now relatively well treated.
Also, the treatment of leukemia in many cases provides for a higher life expectancy and better quality of life. The more dramatic is the case of a young Italian who has been denied treatment.

According to media reports, the Italian Eleonora Bottaro was diagnosed with "acute lymphoblastic leukemia" last year. The doctors in Padua then wanted to persuade the parents of chemotherapy as the usual and best option for their daughter, but these rely on the German "miracle healer" Ryke Geerd Hamer. Now the young woman died at the age of 18 years.
Parents were deprived of care
According to a report in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, the parents took the leukemia patient Eleonora to a clinic in Bellinzona, Switzerland, where she was treated with cortisone and vitamins. The physicians in Padua called a juvenile court that deprived the parents of the girl's right of care.
Patient could have been saved
However, in the meantime, the girl had come of age and had decided to continue treatment in Switzerland. On August 29, Eleonora died at the age of only 18. The doctors are sure, "She could have saved herself." According to Giuseppe Basso, head of Pediatric Oncology at the Hospital of Padua, the disease is successfully treatable in four out of five cases.
The then minor patient, however, would have needed a consent from the guardian. "The parents have rejected - a bad decision," said Basso.
To blame for dozens of deaths
She preferred to follow the method of self-styled "cancer healer" Ryke Geerd Hamer. Hamer used to be a doctor, but in 1986 he was deprived of his license. The Koblenz Administrative Court had even declared Hamer incapable of practicing medicine in 1989 because of "a weakness of his mental powers, unreliability and a psychopathological personality structure". But Hamer continued to work - illegally.
Because of continued illegal practice and fraud, he was repeatedly detained. He was suspected of being (to) blame for over 80 deaths from his "treatment". For international attention caused the case of the little Olivia. The parents of the then six-year-olds were deprived of their parenting rights in 1995. These had "treated" the little cancer patient according to Hamers theory.
Whimsical theory of a convicted German
According to his theory "New Germanic Medicine", there are five "Biological Laws of Nature" that apply to all diseases. The trigger of any illness is a "biological shock". Cancer is a "special biological program" and a reaction to this shock. The cancer is therefore part of the cure and should never be "disturbed" by medication and surgery.
In Eleonora's case, this shocking experience was said to be the premature death of her brother in 2013. (Ad)
