The 12th German Conference on Tobacco Control will be held in Heidelberg on 3 and 4 December. Even e-cigarettes are more targeted by cancer researchers. Recently, another study showed how harmful the electric cigarettes are.
Advertising is especially aimed at young people
On the 3rd and 4th of December the 12th German Conference on Tobacco Control will take place at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. This is carried out in cooperation with the Non-Smoking Action Alliance. Expected to be 250 experts. As the news agency dpa reports, the so-called e-cigarette is increasingly targeted by cancer researchers. The electric cigarettes, but also e-shishas are therefore increasingly offered since July 2014 in the trade. This is associated with a corresponding advertising, which is aimed especially at young people. It is said that a possible regulation of e-cigarette marketing is now being considered.
Carcinogenic substances in e-cigarettes
The fact that electric vaporizers are by no means as harmless and harmless as they are often portrayed in advertising has recently been shown again by a study. Some e-cigarettes contain more carcinogenic substances than classical tobacco: this was the result of Japanese researchers who, on behalf of the Japanese Ministry of Health, found in an investigation that the contents of the nicotine-containing liquid to be vaporized vary widely. So they found in a brand ten times more carcinogenic formaldehyde as in normal cigarettes. (Ad)
