CSU anger on Söder's health concept
Health policy: Anger by Söder's reform concept.
The Bavarian Minister of Health Markus Söder (CSU) has presented his own health plan without capitation, but with more additional contributions and thus caused the anger at his own party. Although the Söders concept does not include any capitation, the additional contributions limited to a maximum of one percent of the gross income for members of the statutory health insurance fund would increase. Because 10 per cent of the expenditures are to carry the cash-drawer members alone. Half of the remaining 90 percent would be borne by employees and employers.
Resistance suggests Söder from its own ranks. But the criticism is less content, rather owed to the fact that Söder has gone public without consulting his proposals to the public. Because a similar paper as that of Söder had already been presented following the general election by the CSU.
Especially angry, the patient representative of the CSU, Wolfgang Zöller seems to be single-handedly. He even said that he was the „Muzzle full“ have and threw Söder „Company Overview“ in front. The delicacy is that Söder presents his proposals at a time when it is clear that the government commission will come together in preparation for the health reform on 13 April. CDU and FDP also reject the concept. Their criticism is more content and the fact that they prefer an income-dependent model.
There are no obvious advantages to health insurance from Söder's proposals, and it is not clear whether the current move is not just for party-political reasons. (Thorsten Fischer, Naturopath Osteopathy, 23.03.2010)
