Risk of Salmonella infection
If Salmonella is ingested with food, the bacteria can cause a so-called salmonellosis, which manifests itself in particular with complaints such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. After a few days, the infectious disease is usually over, but in immunocompromised individuals and infants, this can lead to complications that can be quite life threatening.
