Blood Sweat by Pfizer Vaccine
For the first time, the exact correlation between blood sweating and side effects of the BVD vaccine has been determined
05/09/2011
Calves died of blood sweat disease due to side effects of the BVD vaccine "PregSure" of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer. This was the conclusion of studies by the Chamber of Agriculture in North Rhine-Westphalia and the University of Gießen. The pharmaceutical manufacturer confirmed the investigations. The Pfizer vaccine against the viral cattle disease Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) was now voluntarily withdrawn from the market, as a spokesman for the company said.
The University of Giessen has demonstrated a link between the cases of blood sweating in calves and Pfizer's BVD vaccine "PregSure". Previous studies had pointed in this direction. For the first time, however, the researchers were able to prove exact correlations.
According to the university research, the animals died due to almost complete loss of blood cells and bone marrow cells. The blood platelets responsible for the blood coagulation were also affected. The scientific team from Gießen could now explain how the cells were destroyed in the deceased calves. In the first milk (colostrum) of the cows, in whose calves the illness had occurred, were according to data of the researchers antibodies, which reacted with the white blood cells of the animals. The dams formed antibodies to specific antigens (MHC-I) that occur naturally in every body cell. But those are also included in the vaccine "PregSure". The calf had the same MHC-I molecule, the antibodies were banned and then led to the destruction of the blood-forming cells, as the scientists around the Gießen researcher Prof. Till Rümenapf explained at the Institute of Virology. That same context refers to one „potential danger for all vaccines“, in their manufacture cells of the same genus were used for which the vaccine is intended.
In the past, blood sweat disease has mainly occurred in herds that have been vaccinated with a designated vaccine. According to evaluations of the University of Giessen, around 4000 cases of the disease have become known in Europe. Other bovine viral diarrhea vaccines did not cause these side effects, veterinarians said.
Bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) is a dangerous cattle disease and can destroy whole herds. This is a viral disease that manifests itself with different symptoms. Most of the infections are detected by farmers very late, because at the beginning the animals show hardly any symptoms. However, some cattle are seriously ill and show symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, ocular discharge, excessive discharge from the nose as well as weeping loss of substance at the mosquito mouth. While there are milder forms, severe and fatal manifestations are more common. Particularly dreaded among farmers is the mucous membrane disease.
A spokesman for the Pfizer Group announced that the study results of the University of Giessen are already known. Other studies had already established the thesis of the immune reaction of the past. It has therefore been pointed out in a circular Europe-wide on this context. The company itself has promoted studies to investigate the causes. Pfizer had already withdrawn the vaccine in April 2010 and returned the EU license. The company spokesman made no statements about any claims for damages. (Sb)
