BKK angry over AOK boss

After bankruptcy of the BKK for health professions the company health insurance against the AOK

The second statutory health insurance is bankrupt and has to cease operations at the end of the year. After the City BKK was closed on the first of July, the Federal Insurance Office (BVA) recently announced the closure of the long-suffering BKK für Heilberufe.

Because of significant economic problems and significantly declining membership numbers, the BKK for health professions must be closed at the end of the year, according to the BVA. More than one hundred thousand insured persons will therefore need new health insurance from the beginning of the coming year. A scenario such as the takeover of the City BKK insured should not be repeated here, emphasized not only the BVA but also the Federal Minister of Health, Daniel Bahr (FDP). The chairman of the executive committee of the AOK Federal Association, Jürgen Graalmann, commented in this regard slightly ironically that he was grateful, „that there is now a competition, who the insured persons of the BKK for health professions is most cordially welcome.“ The people in charge of the BKK system, on the other hand, are outraged by another statement from the AOK boss. Graalmann had criticized that in his view, the utility funds like the AOK the „cleanup“ for the bugs in the BKK system.

BKK für Heilberufe closes at the end of the year

End-of-life attempts by the former members of the City BKK in search of a new health insurance should not be repeated among the insured persons of the BKK for health professions, as well as the demand of the Federal Insurance Office and from the ranks of the politicians.

In the direction of the insured of the BKK for health professions, the managers of the company health insurance stated that they do not have to worry about their medical care, since all provided by the closing date services are also taken over by the health insurance. From the first of January 2012, doctors and clinics are no longer allowed to accept the BKK health insurance card anyway. Thus, it is impossible that the insured may remain sitting on treatment costs. Generally, the remuneration for a benefit is borne by health insurance, in which a patient is insured at the time the service is provided or treated. (Fp)
