Bad doner meat leads to nausea and hospitalization
Many people in Germany like to eat doner kebab. This well-known dish comes from the Turkish kitchen and is called there also as doner kebab (turning grilled meat). There are quite a few tasty variations of the dish. However, there are also black spears in the kebab sale that offer old meat or poor quality. This happened now in a doner kebab shop in Berlin. Fourteen participants of a tour group from Hesse had to be hospitalized after having consumed a doner kebab for lunch.

Members of a tour group from Hesse now paid for their lunch in a Berlin doner kebab with a hospital stay. After the participants at the Potsdamer Platz had taken so-called Turkish grilled meat, all consumers suffered from nausea. This became worse and worse, so those affected had to be hospitalized a little later. The supposedly responsible kebab skewer was later confiscated.

Price wars and competition reduce the quality of doner kebab
The kebab is one of the best-selling fast food dishes in Germany. Traditionally, the kebab was made only with mutton or lamb. But chicken meat is becoming more and more popular nowadays. A kebab is usually a tasty and inexpensive dish. However, manufacturers are always trying to save on production costs in order to be able to offer the kebab cheaper and cheaper. Unfortunately, sometimes the quality is left behind. Due to the increasing competition and the internal price war, the product of some manufacturers is getting worse and worse.

Nine of those affected even had to be hospitalized in hospital
This was also noticed by the members of a tour group from Hesse. Fourteen participants complained of severe nausea after eating in a Berlin doner kebab snack. It was not long before all the victims were hospitalized by notified emergency services, said police officers on Thursday to the news agency dpa. Nine of the consumers even had to be hospitalized.

It later turned out that a family from the Netherlands also needed medical treatment. They too had previously eaten in the same kebab snack, so the dpa. The affected snack was in a shopping center on Potsdamer Platz. After the incident, the snack was once closed for security. The doner kebab was confiscated for examination.

Investigations initiated against snack operators
Now investigations were initiated against the operator of the snack - due to negligent assault and violation of the food law. The people of the tour group concerned were refugees who lived in Hesse and were only visiting the capital.
