Overview of cardiovascular risks
Keep track of cardiovascular risks
03/10/2011
Cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack or heart failure are favored by Western risk factors such as high blood pressure, cigarette smoking, sedentary lifestyle and elevated blood lipid levels. The Deutsche Herzstiftung e.V. has published a health pass so that patients can keep an eye on the risk factors.
The causes of the development of heart disease are caused by various factors, such as Smoking, obesity, metabolic disorders (such as diabetes or lipid metabolism disorders), alcoholism, stress and family disposition are greatly favored. The Health Pass of the German Heart Foundation takes into account the current guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology. To help patients keep a close eye on their individual risk factor, the Health Pass has been designed by experts. There, the examination results such as blood pressure, cholesterol or weight can be entered regularly.
Measures to reduce the risk factors at a glance
At a glance, sufferers can identify what action needs to be taken to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. So the heart experts write: The health passport can support the efforts to live a healthy life. The risks should be checked and discussed together with the family doctor or cardiologist. The results can be entered after each examination. Throughout the course of therapy, for example, a change in diet and more exercise can be used to reduce the personal risk of heart disease. The health pass can either be downloaded here for free or ordered by mail via the Deutsche Herzstiftung, Vogtstraße 50, 60322 Frankfurt am Main. (Sb)
