Authority warns against counterfeit power from Greece
The potency agent Cialis® with the active ingredient tadalafil leads similar to the well-known Viagra (active ingredient Sildenafil) to a so-called erectile dysfunction, with the result that men can be longer and even multiple. However, according to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), "cases of counterfeiting of the potency agent Cialis 20 mg film-coated tablets originating from Greece" have now been uncovered. Pharmacists and users are therefore encouraged to pay more attention to the authenticity of the products.
"Conspicuous were packs with the lot numbers C334146 and C543049 on the outer packaging and the lot numbers A05673 and A05668 on the inner packaging (expiration date 01/2017 and 07/2018)", reports the BfArM. The counterfeits were noticed in Greece in two pharmacies. So far, however, no indication has been found "that this falsification, e.g. However, parallel distributors, pharmacists and users are advised to examine the film-coated tablets for specific characteristics and to report suspected cases to the BfArM.

According to the Federal Institute, the counterfeits are different from the original due to mismatched batch designations of the outer and inner packaging of the medicine in Greek presentation and by a different size and color compared to the original. In the film tablets is not as intended the active ingredient tadalafil, but the active ingredient Sildenafil included. The BfArM says it is in close contact with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the state authorities, which are responsible in Germany for the supervision of traffic with medicinal products. As soon as further information is available, the public will be informed immediately. The BfArM expressly warns against purchasing drugs from illegal sources, such as the Internet, as this could lead to severe health problems. (Fp)
