Allergic Caution Heinz recalls garlic sauce
Allergy sufferers beware: Due to incorrect back labels Heinz calls back a batch of garlic sauce. For people with milk or egg intolerance, the products represent a potential health risk. Customers can return the goods and get the purchase price refunded.
Products pose a potential health risk
As some bottles of a particular batch have been labeled with a false back label, Heinz is recalling its garlic sauce. Therefore, for persons with a milk or egg intolerance, the mislabeled product poses a potential health risk because it contains such allergens but these are not listed in the ingredient information. Patients may experience allergic reactions to foods such as diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting, sneezing, coughing, swelling, and skin reactions after eating foods they are allergic to.
Goods can be returned for purchase price
The affected bottles of Heinz Garlic Sauce (220ml) with the lot number 15103, shelf life 04-2016 (EPN code 71587703) can be returned to the information of the company in the respective supermarkets. The purchase price will be refunded. Heinz has reportedly informed all trading partners immediately. It was announced that customers can also contact the Heinz Consumer Hotline on 0211-96 07 66 00. Other Heinz products are not affected. Recalls because of false labels are rather rare, because of contamination, however, is often warned against certain foods. For example, Penny and Rewe have recently launched a recall for chocolate and dessert due to the presence of foreign particles. (Ad)
