In addition, carbohydrates have become the dominant food source in the industrialized world. From the perspective of naturopathy, our genes have not had the slightest chance to adapt to this biologically precipitous development.
We humans have created an environment over the past few centuries that uses less and less energy. On top of that, we eat more than necessary. But thick bellies are anything but desirable - for aesthetic as well as evolutionary reasons. From a naturopathic point of view, it is said: We fall into the "wealth trap": eat a lot, eat the wrong and stop moving.
To stop the epidemic proliferation of overweight and obesity, scientists around the world have been seeking a solution for decades. In the process, many of the "nutrition experts" have long been advocating that high-fat foods are the main cause of the growing numbers of obese people in the population. Carbohydrates, on the other hand, would therefore make you lean and fit.
Meanwhile, all the world is afraid of roast and bacon, cream, butter and cheese. Instead, people eat starchy cereals, rice and potatoes and various refined products made from them. Add sugar and sugar sweetened. These foods are available in every conceivable variation on every corner for very little money: baguette and pretzels, coke and fanta, cake and biscuit, pizza and fries. Sugar and starch full! But now warnings are loud: It seems as if the carbohydrate gluttony brought us even closer to civilization suffering! The "lighter" people ate, the fatter they got.
The number of overweight people is rising steadily, especially where the proportion of fat calories has steadily declined in recent years. Now they eat all the more carbohydrates. And as a result of their weight gain, more and more people are falling ill with sugar and insulin disorders. Over time, diabetes mellitus develops - the "diabetes". Until a few years ago, it mainly affected people who were older than 50 years. Today, more and more young people are developing this so-called "old-age diabetes" at the age of 14, 15 or 16.
In a meaningful diet change to keep his body fit and healthy and also with the people with the goal of weight loss, it is advisable to look at his dietary habits and rethink. Again, there are many opinions and suggestions what is right: you can eat salad in the evening, which carbohydrates are good which are bad, how many of them are good for me at all.
