12 health insurance companies want to pay premium

Health insurance companies want to pay out premiums
The twelve statutory health insurance companies are paying a premium to the insured this year
22/02/2013
In the current year, a total of twelve public health insurances want to pay the insured a premium. „However, certain conditions must be fulfilled for the payment“, explains insurance expert Jens Liebermann. Depending on the health insurance, the distributions amount to between 30 and 120 euros.
Premiums with prerequisites
Hundreds of thousands of people insured by law can look forward to a premium this year. For this, however, certain conditions must be met. „For example, this is the case if insured persons are already members for a certain period of time or have changed to the premium fund until a key date“, so Liebermann. For example, all members of the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) who joined the company between 1 May and 31 December 2013 have a premium of 80 euros.
The Stiftung Warentest also points out in a press release that in many cases new customers can also receive a premium if they keep deadlines. On the one hand, health insurers use the premium to relieve their existing customers and to redeem billions of surpluses and, on the other hand, to recruit new insured persons. However, the consumer advocates warn against rash change intentions: Not only the premium should insured health insurance change“. Instead, a change should be well considered, especially if one was actually quite satisfied with his previous health insurance.
Do not let the cashier's choice cloud over premiums
Important criteria that are crucial in choosing a health insurance fund are in any case the health benefits. These can vary greatly from checkout to checkout. For example, some health insurance companies already take on additional services such as osteopathy, natural remedies or homeopathy. Some coffers also offer the professional teeth cleaning, which is actually an IGEL performance. Home health care can also be very different in some health insurance funds.
These funds are guaranteed to pay
The following health insurances want to pay a premium: Atlas BKK Ahlmann (up to 120 Euro), BKK ATU (up to 30 Euro), BKK Akzo Nobel-Bayern (up to 60 Euro), BKK of the Thuringian Energy Ver. (up to 60 euros), BKK firmus (up to 120 euros), BKK economy & finance (up to 72 euros), BIG direct (up to 100 euros), G & V BKK (up to 120 euros), HEK (up to 75 euros), hkk (until 100 Euro), IKK healthy plus (up to 75 Euro) and technician health insurance (up to 80 Euro).
Soon additional contributions?
„The bonus distributions will not last long“, warns the insurance expert. Some funds are already saying that they will have to make additional contributions in two to three years. The Gesamtverband der Krankenkassen (GVK) had therefore always opposed a disbursement of the surpluses, since the billions of surpluses should instead be used to compensate for worse times. The Federal Ministry of Health, however, put pressure on the coffers, so that now many decided to take this step. After unconfirmed reports from the magazine „The focus“ even 134 health insurances are planning a payment of the surpluses. However, most of the funds mentioned have neither denied nor confirmed the report. (Sb)
