DKV - a private health insurance

Deutsche Krankenversicherung Aktiengesellschaft (DKV) is one of the largest private health insurers in Germany and Europe. After the DKV foundation in Berlin in 1927, the DKV relocated its headquarters in 1954 to Cologne. Since 1998, DKV has been part of the ERGO Group, which includes the D.A.S. Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG, which includes Ergo Versicherung AG and Europäische Reiseversicherung AG. In 2010, DKV took over Victoria Krankenversicherung, which secured the company a leading market position. The repertoire of the DKV ranges from private full insurance to outpatient and inpatient supplementary insurances, dental insurances, supplementary care insurances and foreign health insurance. (Vb)
