AOK

The AOK (General local health insurance) is a statutory health insurance, with several self-employed health insurance companies are combined under a single appearance here. Actually, there are eleven independent AOK's whose field of activity is limited to certain regions or federal states. Overall, the AOK community's annual average for 2015 was around 24.5 million people insured. According to the AOK, 1,380 branches are operated nationwide and more than 61,500 are employed by the AOK. According to the AOK Federal Association, medical expenses for AOK insured persons in 2015 amounted to around € 75 billion. (Fp)
