Occurrence and severity
Occurrence and severity of a rash on the abdomen are very different. The symptoms of skin appear in the form of wheals, red spots, blisters, blisters, pustules (with or without pus), large redness or small punctate haemorrhages. The rash may itch, burn, cause pain or be completely symptomless. It is sometimes only the stomach affected, not infrequently, the symptoms but at other parts of the body.
Skin rash on the abdomen can be due to many different causes and is often accompanied by further discomfort. However, it can also be the sole symptom. (Image: PixieMe / fotolia.com)causes
The causes of rash on the abdomen are different. These include infectious diseases, allergies, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, autoimmune diseases and food allergies.
infectious diseases
Some infectious diseases are associated with rash. These are especially the known childhood diseases such as rubella, marigold, measles, scarlet fever and chickenpox. In addition to the abdomen, other parts of the body are affected by rash.
shingles
Shingles, caused by the varicella zoster virus, can occur on various skin sites. This disease does not spread like chickenpox (the same pathogen) throughout the body, but only in the supply area of the affected nerves. Thus, the itchy rash often begins in the spine and then runs belt-shaped to the chest, possibly to the stomach.
Days before the disease causes the typical skin rash in the form of small blisters, fatigue, slightly elevated temperature and burning pain in the area of the affected area show. Due to the pain and general feeling of malaise, those affected usually seek out a doctor relatively quickly. This is treated with antivirals and analgesics.

Contact allergy is an allergy to substances that have direct contact with the skin. For example, the jeans button, which irritates the skin on the stomach and then causes a rash. But even a t-shirt or trousers worn unwashed can cause rashes on the abdomen and other areas associated with clothing. Likewise, care products such as shower gel or body lotion, to count de allergy-causing substances. The skin inflames and reddens, resulting in small, fluid-filled blisters and / or nodules, accompanied by mostly itching.
Who knows what has triggered the rash, this should of course avoid. However, if the reason, or the trigger is unclear, a dermatologist is best visited. This makes a so-called epicutaneous test. For this purpose, various allergens are applied on the back in the form of drops or ointments and taped with special patches. The result can be read after 24, 48 and 72 hours and fixed in writing.
The treatment primarily requires avoiding the triggering allergen. For the itching, suitable ointments, possibly also cortisone-containing, are used.
Drug
An allergic skin reaction associated with taking medication is referred to as a drug rash. If the triggering drug discontinued, usually the rash disappears quite quickly. Drug eruptions are often caused by the use of penicillin. Other antibiotics can cause skin reactions. Often there are also other side effects such as diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, mucosal swelling and cardiovascular disorders.
The rash may occur hours after first taking the drug but also up to two weeks later after the first dose. The rash is everywhere, the entire body possible, but especially occurs on the trunk, that is on the back, stomach and chest. The skin reactions are quite different: redness, wheals, blisters or nodules.
The following medicines may cause a drug rash: painkillers (for example ibuprofen, diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid), local anesthetics, vaccines, heparin, antiepileptic drugs, insulin, contrast media, ACE inhibitors, thyroid hormones and antibiotics.
Depending on the severity of the rash, the triggering drug is discontinued by the attending physician. Eventually, a replacement medication will be prescribed. The rash on the abdomen or other parts of the body is usually treated with ointments containing an antihistamine or cortisone. If the allergic reaction spreads more and more, sometimes also antihistamines in the form of tablets or infusions are needed. Most of the rash heals within a few days after discontinuation of the "trigger" on its own. The drug should be avoided forever. Eventually an allergy passport will be issued.

Too much sun can lead to rash on the stomach. This causes small pustules, which are usually accompanied by massive itching. Here only sun helps to avoid, cool and supply with an itching breastfeeding cream, such as an aloe vera gel.
eczema
Atopic dermatitis is a relapsing skin inflammatory disease. The skin is extremely dry, with massive itching. This disease can be inherited. Often eczema occurs along with asthma, hay fever and allergies. In adults, especially the eye forehead area, flexors of the extremities and the backs of the hands and feet are affected by the rash.
In babies, atopic dermatitis usually begins on the face and cheeks and crest. Also, the scalp may be affected. In the course of the rash spreads on the stomach and on the arms and legs.
For the treatment of atopic dermatitis include the care of the skin, the modulation of the immune system and, if necessary, in the inflammatory stage, the use of cortisone-containing ointments.
Autoimmune diseases
In an autoimmune disease, the body attacks its own cells and tissues. Initially, there are diffuse symptoms such as tiredness, tingling in the hands and feet, digestive problems, itching and rash. The rash can occur on the abdomen or other parts of the body. Autoimmune diseases are not always easy to diagnose and treat. Here detailed investigations and tests are necessary.
Food allergies, food intolerances
The symptoms of food allergies and food intolerances are very similar, although the two diseases still differ. In the case of an allergy caused by certain foods, those affected form corresponding IgE antibodies, which can sometimes lead to anaphylactic shock. This is where the immune system gets out of hand.
In the case of food intolerance, such as lactose intolerance, the body lacks an enzyme, called lactase, which normally splits the milk sugar into its constituents and thereby makes it useful to the body. Here the symptoms arise due to the partial or complete absence of the enzyme.
Discomfort in both diseases are: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, itching, rash, swelling of the tongue and much more.

On 50 ml of good, cold-pressed almond oil, olive oil or sesame oil come 4 drops of lavender essential oil. With this mixture, the belly is rubbed twice a day - preferably still covered with a cloth, so that the oil mixture can act better.
If you do not like lavender essential oil or are prone to allergic reactions, use only olive oil, without any additives.
fruit vinegar
If the areas on the belly are not scratched, a mixture of water and fruit vinegar, in the ratio 1: 1 help - so that the rash is dabbed repeatedly.
