What are warts??

Warts are caused by viruses - except for age warts. These viruses invade attacked skin. There they multiply in the cornea, and the result is warts. These spread out, stay for a long time or disappear on their own. "Wondrous" disappearance usually proves a stable immune system that restrains the virus.

Once the warts have spread, it takes time to get rid of them. Medication, home remedies and sometimes you can not get around surgery or laser treatment.

Means for self-application

Tinctures of thuja - the tree of life found in hedges - or the less known celandine are suitable for combating warts. This acts against viruses and leaves proteins, it destroys the affected tissue. Thuja is also a viral killer and supports the immune system in self-healing.

Which "folk medicine" is not suitable?

Warts often disappear from "self", more specifically, through the body's self-healing powers - just as the immune system fights a cold that is caused by viruses. Some home remedies, like homeopathy, are considered effective, although the warts naturally disappear on their own.

Eigenurin circulates on the Internet as a remedy for warts. The real essence is that urea softens the skin, and therefore the structures of the warts. The viruses that cause the warts, however, do not fight urea. The same applies to the likewise often advertised Aloe Vera.

Vulgar warts

Two out of three warts are caused by human papilomaviruses. These are those typical dandruff-like bumps, which mainly develop on the fingers, hands, soles and face. These emphases are not because the viruses only find a biotope here, but because they spread through body contact. For example, if you walk your bare feet into the pool, touch infested objects and then scratch your temples, you spread the viruses over your face, hands and feet.

plantar warts

Plantar warts are formed by the same pathogen, but only on the soles of the feet and take on a different shape. They are slightly arched and look like a circle with dark spots. On the soles of the feet they form pointed stems that grow into the skin and hurt like thorns.

molluscum

Mollusc warts have a color like reddened skin and a dent in the center. They form groups and can cover larger areas, usually on the neck, arms and legs. This is a poxvirus. Many people confuse them with pimples and try to express them. But this is fatal, because when they press the liquid out of the warts, they spread the viruses on the skin and always create new warts.

Age warts

Although age warts are called warts, but have little to do with the other warts. They are not caused by viruses, but are skin discolorations that develop when the skin ages. The smallest are the size of a pinhead, the largest like a pea.

salicylic acid

Doctors advise not to do anything with new warts. Almost two-thirds of all goods disappear by themselves within a few months. If you want to remove the wart, patches help with salicylic acid. These soften the skin. Then a dermatologist or a dermatologist can remove the wart with a cornea planer.

Salicylic acid tolerates the skin well. But you need patience. Only after weeks, there is a decline in the warts, and they have to apply the acid daily or continuously wear the patches.

However, you should not apply the acid to open wounds and inflamed areas. Diabetics and people with diseased arteries and circulatory problems should not use them. Pregnant or lactating women should use salicylic acid only in consultation with their doctor.

Before using salicylic acid, remove the upper dead tissue with pumice, emery paper or a file. Before scrape the skin, place it in lukewarm water for 5 to 10 minutes. Then the acid can better move into the virus-infested tissue. After softening and filing, apply the acid and cover the area with a plaster. Repeat this process up to four times a day. After about 3 months even larger warts disappear. If the wart still persists, then have the remainder removed by a family doctor.

garlic

Garlic is considered a home remedy for warts. Since garlic is not only effective against bacteria and fungi, but also slightly antiviral, this is not superstition. Slice one toe of fresh garlic, rub the softened wart with it, so that the juice enters the tissue. Then place the toe with the cut side down and fasten it with a plaster. They leave the patch overnight in the field and change it the next morning. So treat the wart for three weeks. Garlic is less potent than salicylic acid and is therefore suitable for smaller warts.

Burn out warts

You leave this to a doctor even if some people still practice burning out warts with a lighter or glowing metal. In this hot self-treatment, the risk of injury is great, and the burns are easily infected. Doctors today burn warts with electro-gagulation. The current flows through the warts tissue at high frequency and thereby the tissue is dehydrated. The dried wart then removes a surgeon with a scalpel or a kind of spoon. To eradicate the wart, doctor or doctor stun the place.

A burnout is recommended only if the warts hold despite salicylic acid, formic acid or other means of pharmacy, or if the wart causes pain. This is especially the case with plantar warts. This burnout is suitable for destroying isolated warts, but not for warts.

Warts freeze

Dermatologists freeze warts with liquid nitrogen. As with burnout, icing is not recommended until less intensive methods have failed, and / or the warts cause great pain.

laser

CO2 lasers have long been used against warts. However, they lead to long pain in wound healing, also form scars. Today, more and more doctors are using pulsed dye lasers. These kill off the blood vessels that feed the wart and thus "starve" the virus.

Tea tree oil

As a home remedy, there is always tea tree oil. You should refrain from doing so. Although it acts against viruses, bacteria and fungi, including warts, but oxidizes in the air - then form harmful substances. In addition, it discolors the skin, and you certainly do not want that if you just removed a wart for aesthetic reasons.

Prevent warts

To prevent warts, avoid getting in contact with the viruses. Dry your hands and use hand creams. The more moist your skin is, and the fewer cracks it has, the more difficult it is for viruses to invade. Further points:

  • Do not wear strange shoes or unwashed socks of others. There the viruses are collecting.
  • Avoid using the toiletries of strangers. That ranges from razor blades to deo scooters.
  • Do not injure the Nagelhöfe on their fingernails by chewing or too sharp cutting.
  • Keep your immune system up to speed with hiking, exercise, exercise and a sauna. Then the viruses have a hard game.
  • Go barefoot in public institutions as rarely as possible. For example, wear bathing shoes in a swimming pool or sauna.
  • Do not touch warts. If you need to do it, wash your hands immediately afterwards and do not touch your face or skin.
