Additional contributions also possible in 2011
Supplementary contributions to the statutory health insurance in 2011 possible.
According to the association of health insurances, additional contributions from the statutory health insurances will be possible again next year. Thus the association contradicts statements of the Federal Insurance Office, that the contribution increase from 2011 no further additional contributions are necessary.
The funding of the funds is secured, said last week the Federal Ministry of Health. In doing so one relied on calculations of the Federal Insurance Office. But the Kassenverband contradicts, because by the higher contributions, the billions deficit of the health insurance companies can be compensated, but this does not apply to the overall market. Because the situation of the individual health insurance funds differs strongly. So it was pointed out that especially the health insurance in the expensive cities have an increased cost. Because the costs for hospitals are very likely to increase. This increase must then be compensated accordingly with further additional contributions, as it was said.
However, the Federal Insurance Office excludes additional contributions for the year 2011. The total expenditure of the health insurances of 178.9 billion euros is covered by health fund payments. For 2012, on the other hand, it is very likely that further additional contributions will be required from the statutory funds. (sb, 04.10.2010)
