Ticks Danger These are the TBE risk areas in Germany
In Germany, the number of risk areas for tick-borne TBE infection has increased by three. A total of 145 counties are now classified as FSME risk areas, reports the Robert Koch Institute.
In Germany, there is a risk of TBE infection, especially in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, in southern Hesse and in southeastern Thuringia. In Bavaria, the SK Hof as well as the LK Ostallgäu and in Thuringia the LK Greiz are added as new risk areas; All three border on existing risk areas.
Further risk areas are in Central Hesse (LK Marburg-Biedenkopf), in the Saarland (Saar-Pfalz-Kreis), in Rhineland-Palatinate (LK Birkenfeld), and since 2014 with the LK Vogtlandkreis also in Saxony.
