Investigation at Harvard University: Which diet is better
Low carb, low fat, raw food or Paelo diet: People who feel too fat, try using various methods to get rid of excess pounds. Researchers at Harvard University have now found in an investigation that common diets bring rather little to nothing. Integrating healthy foods into the daily diet is much more useful.
Losing weight with the help of diets
When people want to lose weight, they often try it with a variety of methods. Some simply try to eat less, while others rely on diets that use as little as possible of fat or carbohydrates. Most people are aware that dieting threatens the so-called yo-yo effect. So after successful loss of unnecessary kilos, they quickly land on their hips again. In the past, research has shown that many popular diets usually fail. Now, researchers at Harvard University have also looked at ways to lose weight. They, too, came to the conclusion that widespread diets tend to bring nothing.

Weight loss is hardly worth mentioning
According to "vox.com", scientists were actually looking for an answer to the question of whether low-fat diets would do more than other diets. Previous research has shown that low carb is more effective than low fat. For the current investigation of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Boston), the researchers analyzed 53 studies with a total of more than 68,000 participants who made at least a year either a diet with reduced carbohydrates or a diet low in fat. It showed that low-fat diets performed worse than low-carb programs. However, the results were hardly worth mentioning. The average weight loss was just under 3.20 kilograms. A value that is not significant according to the researchers. The majority of participants had been overweight at baseline, many suffered from obesity. The motivation to lose weight was thus great.

"What we should not do"
"The study tells us what we should not do," study director Deidre Tobias of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School loudly criticized "vox.com." In the journal "The Lancet", the researchers report that the assumption "that one must delete the fat from his diet in order to lose weight", has no stock. According to study author Deirdre Tobias, "it's not about whether fats or carbohydrates are crucial for losing weight. Rather, we need to rethink nutritional patterns rather than demonize individual foods. "According to Tobias, one should not omit any major nutrients, such as low fat, low carb or low protein advise. Instead, healthy foods should be integrated into the daily menu plan. Although you probably will not lose much, this is usually not the case in most diets. (Ad)
