Scientists confirm That's why smokers are less attractive
Smoking is cool? The times are over!
The image of smokers has changed significantly in recent years. A few years ago, smoking was considered "daring," "cool," "interesting," conveying the image of a freedom-loving, life-affirming adventurer or intelligent thinker. Many advertising icons, such as the "Marlboro Man" or the "HB male" https://www.heilpraxisnet.de/wp-admin/edit.phphaben coined the cool image of the smoker. But this picture has suffered a lot. In recent years, smokers have been increasingly marginalized from public life and banished to appropriate zones or pavilions or put out the door. Does this shift in dealing with smokers have consequences for how smokers are perceived by the opposite sex? This question has been investigated by a recent study.
Smokers are less attractive to the opposite sex
A study by the University of Bristol with more than 500 subjects dealt with the question of whether smokers from the opposite sex are perceived differently from non-smokers - with clear results. The face of each non-smoking twin was perceived by most subjects to be more attractive, both in males and in females.

Whether someone is perceived as attractive depends on many factors, such as age, gender and genetics. Therefore, the study examined the faces of twins, one smoker and one non-smoker each. According to the researchers, twins are particularly well suited for this study because their genetic material is virtually identical. The different lifestyles and habits, including smoking, also play a role in how a person develops. More than 70 percent of study participants looking at images of twins' faces were able to clearly identify smokers.
The results of the study are clear
The Bristol University study, recently published in the Royal Society Open Science magazine, found that smoking can have a negative impact on the appearance of the face. Furthermore, one can already see many people on the face, whether they are smokers or not. According to the study, smokers were for the most part considered less attractive by the opposite sex than non-smokers. (Fp)
