If redness occurs after vaccination
Alone because of the syringe, some people are afraid of vaccination. Especially children shy away from the little pricks. If there is redness after that, the uncertainty is often great. Experts say that one does not have to worry about such a reaction on the skin.
Which vaccinations are required
In Germany there is a lot of uncertainty about vaccinations. Parents are often worried that they might harm the child as a result. In fact, vaccinations can be associated with side effects.
According to health experts, these are not a reason for the general refusal of vaccinations, but cause to think carefully, which syringes are actually required. An orientation is offered by the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO), which constantly revises its vaccination recommendations.
If there are temporary symptoms such as redness, swelling or pain at the injection site after vaccination, this is not a cause for concern. "Vaccination is one of the most important and effective preventive measures available in medicine. Modern vaccines are well tolerated and adverse drug reactions are rarely seen, "writes the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on its website.
For example, redness, swelling or pain at the injection site may occur after vaccination. However, according to RKI experts, this is usually no cause for concern if the symptoms disappear within three days.
Short-term reactions
During this period you may also experience fever of up to 39.5 degrees, headache, body aches, feeling unwell and feeling tired. This also applies to nausea and restlessness.
These reactions are, according to RKI, "an expression of the desired immune system debate on the vaccine". Therefore, such symptoms are not reportable. However, if the symptoms go beyond this, it should be reported by the doctor to the health department. (Ad)
