Reduce insulin requirements with Chinese medicine: prescriptions and proper nutrition help diabetic patients

Dramatic increase overweight, increased „Junk food“-Consumption, declining physical activity - all factors that experts attribute to a doubling of the seven million diabetes cases in Germany over the next decade. Those affected can often come to terms with a disease-oriented diet and lifestyle. But many are frightened by the idea of having to inject insulin at some point. Chinese medicine offers help here: as a concomitant therapy for orthodox medical treatment, it enables a reduction in the daily insulin requirements and provides helpful tips for a balanced nutrition balance.
While in autoimmune type 1 diabetes autoimmune processes destroy the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas, type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disease that is usually associated with obesity and high blood pressure. The body cells no longer respond to insulin properly, so the pancreas produces more and more insulin to balance and exhausted in the long run. Medications help improve cell responsiveness to insulin and adjust blood glucose levels.
The classical medical care receives support from the Chinese therapy, which works with the concept of the Tan, a comprehensive treatment concept. „Tan is in Chinese medicine for substances that escape the physiological clarification and excretion, thus clogging supply and disposal routes. Methods such as Chinese drug therapy, acupuncture, body therapies and Qi Gong strengthen the material clarification function“, knows TCM expert Dr. Christian Schmincke. Chinese medicinal plants, the most important tool of TCM, activate cleaning processes in the tissue and remove material transport obstacles between the blood and the cell. This improves the metabolic state and increases the effectiveness of insulin therapy. Thanks to the metabolic purifying effect of Chinese medicines, the administration of insulin can usually be significantly reduced.
Even in type 1 diabetes, the insulin requirement decreases in individual cases by up to 50 percent and blood sugar fluctuations are compensated. This effect is particularly evident in type 2 diabetes. „In some cases, it is even possible to completely discontinue the use of diabetes medication with a simultaneously improved and stable sugar profile and increased vitality“, complements the doctor specializing in Chinese medicine.
In addition, every diabetes patient contributes with a careful selection of foods to keep an eye on his eating habits. Thus, the Chinese dietetics recommends to refrain from an excess of animal protein. Too much meat and dairy products such as milk, quark and cheese can lead to accumulations of tan and thus slow down the tissue cleaning. Instead, whole-grain cereals and a variety of vegetables are sufficient to meet the protein needs of humans. (Pm)
