„Miracle Mineral Supplement“ („MMS“) is the alleged miracle cure, which is to help against numerous diseases such as chronic inflammations, malaria or malignant tumors. Currently, the supposed medicine is increasingly offered as a secret weapon against cancer on the Internet. The Hessian health authorities, however, officially warn of the means. It mountains „significant health hazards“, informs the regional council in Darmstadt in a press release.

The Authority further states that the sodium chlorite contained in the medium releases corrosive chlorine dioxide when ingested. This substance is normally used as a disinfectant. „The application can lead to significant health hazards. These risks are not matched by any proven health benefits“, it says in the message. „The Regional Council of Darmstadt, as the authority responsible for drug monitoring in Hesse, once again uses this warning as an incentive to discourage the use of these or comparable products, which are normally used as surface disinfectants among other things.“
At the beginning of June, the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) was already facing the health risks of „Miracle Mineral Supplement“ warned. In Germany, the sale of such products is punishable.
