Warning of Diet Food Mexico Red Pepper
Health warning before diet „Mexico Red Pepper“
05/26/2013
In the past few weeks several experts have repeatedly warned against the purchase of drugs from the Internet. Now, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Investigation Office (LUA) in Koblenz points to a dangerous slimming product, which is advertised on the Internet. In the message of the LUA it is said, the capsules with the name „Mexico Red Pepper“ are "legally a non-approved drug that may not be sold in Germany." The concrete warning of the authority announces that the active ingredients sibutramine and phenolphthalein were detected in a review of the diet capsules. Both substances are not indicated on the packaging and can each cause serious consequences.
Thus, sibutramine could cause side effects such as high blood pressure and acute heart disease and the simultaneous use of psychotropic drugs would also threaten dangerous interactions. And phenolphthalein is even banned on suspicion of carcinogenic side effects. On the packaging, on which a slender woman in a bikini pictured in front of fiery chili peppers, is also with „100% Pure Nature“ advertised. However, the LUA pointed out that the capsules are by no means a harmless natural product. On the Internet, dietary products containing dangerous, undeclared ingredients are repeatedly offered. The State Investigation Office generally advises against ordering dietary products on the Internet. (Sb)
