Many parents rely on anthroposophic medicine in the treatment of children with cancer.
(07.09.2010) Anthroposophic medicine is very popular with parents of children with cancer. This was the result of a survey study by the Center for Integrative Pediatric Oncology at the Gemeinschaftskrankenhaus in Herdecke. Anthroposophic medicine is the complementary medical direction that emerged from the anthroposophy of Rudolf Steiner.
According to the results of the survey, 18 percent of parents of children with cancer as well as conventional cancer therapy in conventional medicine also focus on treatment approaches for anthroposophic medicinal products and their external applications. 16 percent of parents also rely on mistletoe preparations and three percent on eurythmy therapy. Also, the recommendation rate is very high, about 96 percent of parents who also put on the treatment approaches of anthroposophic medicines would recommend other parents and children the form of therapy. What is anthroposophic medicine?
Anthroposophic medicine focuses on activating and strengthening the self-healing powers of patients. The Anthroposophic Medical Approach uses specially prepared mineral, herbal and animal medicines, art therapies, massage, eurythmy therapy, external healing treatments, counseling and accompanying discussions as well as anthroposophically extended nursing. Specifically anthroposophic medicines are based on the principle that specially prepared remedies from plant extracts and animal products, each specific to which may affect the interaction of human beings. The anthroposophic medicinal drugs are often administered in homeopathic dosage to patients.
