Smoke or vapor marijuana?

Researchers have now found that when people vaporize marijuana, it has a much stronger effect compared to marijuana smoking people.

The researchers from the Johns Hopkins Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit found in their current research that using a so-called vaporiser with marijuana has a much stronger effect than conventional smoking. The physicians published the results of their study in the English language journal "JAMA".

How did the investigation go??

To compare the smoking of marijuana with the evaporation of marijuana, the experts recruited 17 healthy men and women. All subjects had already smoked marijuana before the study, but not in the month immediately prior to the start of the study. In six sessions, each lasting 8.5 hours, the participants smoked or steamed marijuana. The marijuana contained either 0, 10 or 25 milligrams of THC. The participants were then asked to answer some questions about their mood, their feeling and their physiological symptoms. In addition, they also underwent a series of cognitive tests, such as responding to computer stimuli or solving simple equations, as well as physical tests that measured heart rate and blood pressure.

What effects did consumption have??

When the subjects consumed 25mg of THC, it caused a very high high sensation, regardless of whether they vaporized or smoked the THC. In this amount of THC, two participants vomited and another subject hallucinated even. During the study, both smokers of marijuana and users of inhalers experienced symptoms such as increased heart rate, paranoia, and bloodshot eyes. These effects reached their peak within an hour, sometimes even after eight hours the normal state was not restored, explain the scientists.

Vaporizing was much more effective

Overall, however, evaporation proved to be much more effective at each dose. The scientists reported significantly higher concentrations of THC in the blood of vaporizer-using participants and more errors in cognitive testing. In addition, the subjects also reported that they felt much more intoxicated.

More and more people use marijuana

As legalization of marijuana continues to spread around the world, more and more people are using the sticky green plant for both recovery and medical purposes. Many countries in the EU and elsewhere have approved marijuana for use in medicine and leisure which has led to the development of a massively growing industry and a changing perception of marijuana. Significant, sometimes detrimental, drug effects can occur occasionally even at relatively low doses of THC. Accordingly, these data should be taken into account with respect to the regulation of retail cannabis products and the education of individuals using cannabis, the study authors write.

Vaporizing marijuana is becoming increasingly popular

As vaporizing becomes an increasingly popular mode of marijuana use and cannabis is more readily available through policy changes, experts say that better understanding of marijuana use methods and how it impacts on a person is an important step in ensuring a safe and enjoyable life Use is. (As)
