Environment Sausage, cheese or vegetables - this has to be in the organic waste bin
Which wastes belong in the bio-waste bin??
But which waste is allowed in the bio bin? In detail, the regional waste disposal companies pretend. In principle, according to the Biological Waste Ordinance, not only green waste and Obstreste may end up in the green or brown bin, but far more biological waste. Here is a short overview:
Dairy products, such as remnants of quark or cheese can basically be added to the bio-waste bin. But not expired milk. When making cheese, make sure that it is in the natural bark. Otherwise, this must be removed beforehand.
Herringbone and animal bones can be used in normal amounts in the brown bucket. Herringbones themselves are wrapped in newspaper. The paper should not be printed in color. Peels of citrus fruit, including those of apples, pears and potatoes, are considered green waste. Also egg shells can be in the bio bin.
When eating leftovers, you should be careful. Prefer to spend less than too much in organic waste. Only household usual quantities such as raw, cooked or already bad food should be thrown into the bio bin. Wrap here in newspaper, which is not colorfully printed. The same applies to meat or sausage products. Bread scraps or other baked goods may also be disposed of in the biological bin. Tea bags, coffee filters with coffee grounds are also permitted. Also in tonne can kitchen crepe, paper towels and handkerchiefs, also napkins. Also permitted are collection bags for biowaste from paper and labeled biodegradable plastics. Residual hair or feathers are degradable and can therefore also in the brown bio bin.
Wood wool and wood shavings from untreated wood as well as small animal litter if it is made of biodegradable material. Faeces from the animals, however, must be disposed of separately. According to the Federal Environment Ministry, the brown bin "is also intended for green waste of flowerbeds, trees and shrubs as well as potting soil, hay and straw, foliage, brushwood and grass clippings". But beware: Flower pots and wires for binding the flowers must be removed before, as they are not degradable.
That does not belong in the brown bin
Not included in the biotones, for example, glass, gift wrap, rubber, ash, treated wood residues, toiletries (such as tampons, bandages, diapers, etc.), candle remnants, medicines, soot or cloths. These items belong in the household waste or in green sacks. (Sb)
