Thrombosis risk increased during pregnancy
Thrombosis risk increased during pregnancy.
(13.09.2010) The president of the professional association of gynecologists in Munich warns of the often underestimated risk of thrombosis for pregnant women. Anyone who feels sudden severe pain in the anal area, should urgently see the doctor, because the cause may be a blood clot.
The so-called anal venous thrombosis is, according to Christian Albring, president of the professional association of gynecologists, relatively widespread, but is mistaken by many pregnant women as Hämorrhoidalleiden (ugs .: Hemorrhoids). Pressure and pressure during pregnancy and subsequent delivery are often the cause of anal venous thrombosis, according to the expert.
After a diagnosis, small thromboses can usually be treated without major problems with ointments and suppositories, whereas larger ones must be opened or removed under local anesthesia. If there is no or a very late diagnosis, in older anal venous thrombosis only the symptoms can be alleviated. According to Christian Albring, for example, pregnant women should prevent anal venous thrombosis through a balanced, high-fiber diet with plenty of fluid intake and through gymnastics during and after pregnancy.
