The researchers of the study examined which factors in the professional life worsen sleep. To this end, they interviewed 5,070 Norwegian workers in various professions about their sleep quality and the load on the job zweiml every two years.
First and foremost, they covered the participants' sleep and sleep disorders. The stress at the workplace was measured by a total of 13 different items.
It was found that sleep problems depended on four major factors. First, the quantitative workload of the participants was crucial. The more work per unit of time the participants had to do, the higher the risk of sleep disturbances. The second factor was the freedom of choice of workers. The lower the freedom of choice, the worse the sleep.
Two other factors that worsened sleep quality were role conflicts and lack of supervision by the employer. The study can be found here. (Pm)
