Fan make-up and sticky tattoos contain partially forbidden substances
Bad news for football fans: At the beginning of the 2016 European Football Championship, Stiftung Warentest unfortunately published a very unpleasant test result. Accordingly, health-critical or sometimes even forbidden substances were found in the popular EM make-up as well as in adhesive tattoos. Accordingly, all twelve tested products were affected. But the foundation gives tips on how fans can decorate themselves with the flag of their country, without taking a risk.

Five products receive a "Poor"
Those who want to decorate themselves with the colors of their home country or colorful adhesive tattoos on the occasion of the European Football Championship should be careful. The fan articles that are available everywhere are anything but "clean". This has resulted in a recent review of the Stiftung Warentest. According to a statement from the Foundation, experts found pollutants in some of the tested products, some of which were even banned. Accordingly, seven times EM-make-up and five times tattoos were tested. Five times, the testers had to award the verdict "Poor", five other products just made it to a "sufficient". Only two Fankosmetika received a "satisfactory" and thus the best grade in the test. These are the Uefa make-up pencil by Lidl and tattoos by Kik.

Mineral oil hydrocarbons in every fan make-up
In particular, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and plasticisers have been a problem, some of which are banned because of their health concerns in cosmetics. However, in eight products, the investigators identified the forbidden PAH naphthalene, four of them also contained banned plasticizers, one contained a prohibited solvent. All samples of fan make-up were also contaminated with aromatic mineral oil hydrocarbons (Moah for short), which are considered to be potentially carcinogenic. Nevertheless, according to the foundation, there is no direct health risk. Because "the Fanbemalung is usually used a maximum of seven times - so many games complete the teams that make it to the final," the message.

Avoid lips and eye area
If you want to be recognized as a fan of "his" team, you should choose one of the two "satisfactory" products on the advice of the foundation. Especially when children use the fan utensils. For safety's sake, make-up and tattoos should not be applied to the lips or close to the eyes, as they may contain mucolytic dyes. In addition, the aforementioned pollutants can easily enter the body through the mouth and eyes. Accordingly, fans should be particularly careful on injured skin, warns the Stiftung Warentest. (No)
