Stiftung Warentest Expensive mustard is usually much tastier
Good mustard does not have to be expensive. He is already available from 1.16 euros per liter, reported Stiftung Warentest. Medium hot mustard received mostly good test result
According to the test, a good mustard is already available for 1.16 euros per liter. Sometimes it is worthwhile to buy a more expensive product. "Although the two traditionally manufactured products are the most expensive in the test at more than 20 euros per liter, they also have a smooth one in the most important test point, the sensory evaluation - they are particularly aromatic and complex," say the testers. "The worst cut in this discipline from one of three organic products, the mustard tastes unbalanced acetic acid, slightly bitter and only slightly spicy." Overall, 13 of the tested products were rated "good", seven mustard varieties received the note "degrading".
In addition to the sensory evaluation, the testers also evaluated the packaging and the declaration as well as a possible pollutant content. Only two products were pollutants, so the pleasing result.
In the magazine "test" (issue 7/2015) give the consumer advocates also tips for storage of mustard. Accordingly, it should be stored in a cool and dark place. The liquid, which accumulates sometimes, could be stirred without hesitation. (Ag)
