Citizens have great faith in their pharmacy
Although falsified medicines have also appeared in pharmacies in the past. But so far these were exceptions. This is certainly also a reason why so many Germans have great confidence in their local pharmacy. Nearly nine out of ten Germans consider the visit to the pharmacy around the corner the best way to protect themselves from counterfeit medicines. This is evident from a representative survey of the health magazine "Apotheken Umschau".
Do not be afraid of counterfeit medicines
According to 88.7 percent of women and men in Germany believe that in the local pharmacy in any case, it is safe to get no counterfeit drugs. Although experts repeatedly point out that numerous drugs are fake, but eight out of ten German citizens (79.3 percent) do not worry about counterfeiting, as they buy their drugs only in the local pharmacy if necessary. In addition, more than half of citizens rely on regulatory protection for drug safety. According to the poll 57.7 percent of Germans are convinced that the health system's control organs ensure that the vast majority of counterfeit medicines are uncovered and that such practices are not worthwhile for the perpetrators in the long term.
