In consultation with the authorities, the manufacturer has arranged the withdrawal from the trade. Customers who have purchased one of the products can return it in the trade for a refund of the purchase price.

Infants and seniors particularly at risk

A salmonella disease breaks out after infection within a few hours or days and presents with symptoms such as diarrhea, headache, abdominal pain, general malaise and occasionally vomiting.

Often also a slight fever occurs. The complaints usually last for several days and then stop themselves.

In rare cases, it can also lead to serious illnesses, such as blood poisoning.

"Infants, toddlers, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. With them, it can lead to longer and more severe illnesses, "explains the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) on the website" Infektionsschutz.de ".

"People who develop severe or persistent symptoms and have eaten this food should seek medical attention and point out a possible salmonella infection," writes Hans Kupfer & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG. (Ad)
