More than two months ago, little Marwa was put into an artificial coma at the "La Timone" clinic in Marseille. According to media reports, an aggressive virus had attacked her heart and central nervous system. But the weeks passed without the condition of the young Frenchwoman improving. In November, the hospital wanted to discontinue the life-support measures for the toddler. This was also justified by the fact that the girl - if it still awaken from the coma - is no longer able to breathe alone or to eat. The doctors assume that their brains are irreversibly damaged.
Patient woke up without any help
But the parents fought to continue their daughter's treatment. They launched a petition, which has now been signed by more than 116,000 people. Every day they reported on the situation of the little patient on the Facebook page "Jamais sans Marwa" ("Never without Marwa").
The Marseille Administrative Court finally decided to continue the treatment for the time being. The health of the girl should be examined more closely by the doctors.
Shortly thereafter, it came to the event, which many now call "miracles": Marwa wakes up without any help from the artificial coma.
One-year-old is still in treatment
According to the information, the condition of the girl still being treated in the clinic is still critical. Her organs are healthy. The father of one-year-old told the French media that there is progress.
"My little miracle can smile at me, finally fight the fight," he wrote on Facebook.
"Their treatment continues, but we see the daily development and that gives us great hope," said the father of the news site "Nice-Matin". "When I talk to her, she hears my voice, she reacts, sometimes she smiles." (Ad)
