According to the company, the article was sold in stores of the Aldi Nord chain of stores exclusively in Berlin and Hamburg, as well as in the federal states of Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein.

Customers who have purchased the product can return it in the trade for a refund of the purchase price.

"Consumption of the products from the specified product batch is strongly discouraged," writes the company from Heilsbronn.

Bacteria cause gastrointestinal infections
Salmonella causes unpleasant gastrointestinal infections (salmonellosis). The disease occurs several hours to days after infection and manifests itself mainly by sudden onset of diarrhea, abdominal pain, malaise, feeling cold and headache.

In some cases, vomiting and mild fever are added, as well as pain in bowel movements and mucus or blood in the stool.

The symptoms usually disappear after just a few hours or days. For babies, small children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, the loss of fluids as a result of diarrhea and vomiting can be dangerous.

Therefore, sometimes a treatment in the hospital is required.

Hans Kupfer & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG writes: "Persons who develop severe or persistent symptoms and have eaten this food should seek medical attention and point out a possible Salmonella infection." (Ad)
