Discounter Lidl recalls eggs from the Dutch company Omega. On some packages there is too long a best before date. If eggs are stored too long or incorrectly, harmful bacteria can multiply.
Eggs recalled due to date of best before date
As announced on Wednesday, the discounter Lidl recalls eggs of the Dutch company Omega due to an incorrect expiry date. According to a statement from the company based in Neckarsulm near Heilbronn, the eggs would be sold in Lidl branches in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. Due to a labeling error is on different packaging too long a shelf life. Instead of the correct date, April 7, 7 June is given.
Do not consume affected products anymore
Affected are "fresh eggs from the ground keeping" (size M, L), pack of 10, "organic eggs" (size M, L, XL), pack of 10 and "free range fresh eggs" (size M, L) , Pack of 10; all with the MHD 07.06. Since the shelf life can not be guaranteed by the specified date, customers should no longer consume the products mentioned. According to the company, the food was taken off the shelves.
