Salmonella can cause severe gastrointestinal discomfort
Salmonella are bacteria that can cause a so-called salmonellosis. Those affected suffer from nausea, vomiting and severe diarrhea. As a rule, the disease is over after a few days at the latest, but the course until then is usually violent and goes hand in hand with a massive fluid loss. If complications occur, sufferers also have fever and there is a risk of dehydration. Then a treatment in the hospital is often required. (Ag)
