Recall action for spread due to possibly contained metal parts
If food is contaminated during manufacturing, it can pose a significant risk to consumers. If contamination is suspected, a corresponding recall of goods is required. For example, the manufacturer of the spread "Lotus Biscoff Crunchy" has recently launched a recall for the spread after it became aware of potential contamination with metal particles.
The manufacturer Lotus Bakeries recalls the product "Lotus Biscoff Spread Crunchy" because of possible contamination with small metal particles. This was distributed in almost all federal states. Affected is the spread with expiration date in February 2018. From a consumption of the spread advises the manufacturer urgently. The product may be returned to the point of sale for reimbursement of the purchase price, according to Lotus Bakeries.

Spread was offered in almost all federal states
The bread spread was sold in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia. Only the spread with the mentioned best before dates and the yellow lid is affected. Lotus Biscoff bread spread with red lid fully meets the quality criteria.
Metal detector set too imprecise
The recall is made according to the manufacturer's instructions because it was determined to a co-packer, who was responsible for the filling, that the setting of the metal detector in the mentioned period was not accurate. It can therefore not be ruled out that metal particles are present in the spread. Who has bought one of the glasses, get his money back. The manufacturer Lotus Bakeries apologizes in a press release to all consumers for the inconvenience. (Fp)
