In the current 2011 map report, the private health insurance Debeka was chosen as the best private health insurance. The provider was able to secure for the eleventh time due to the first place. Second place went to DKV and R + V Versicherung. Both health insurance companies also achieved good results.

Debeka: For the eleventh time test winner in PKV rating
A total of 16 private providers of health insurance participated in the evaluation of the map report 2011. First place went to Germany's second largest private health insurance, Debeka. For the eleventh time, Debeka was able to defend its competitors with top marks for economy, stable contributions and good performances. Thus, the Debeka continued its successful course for the 11th time and was visibly convincing industry experts. Especially in the area of balance sheets, customer service and health services, private health insurance achieved the highest marks that could be achieved.

Second place in the PKV map report 2011
Second place is shared by Deutsche Krankenversicherung (DKV) and R + V Versicherung. Both insurance companies were also able to achieve very good marks. Since the takeover of Victoria, DKV has been the industry leader and has been able to achieve good test results during the analysis, above all in the economic sector thanks to high yields.

Allianz insurance for the first time
So far, the Allianz insurance had rejected the PKV map report and criticized violently. For the first time, Allianz took part in the test, much to the surprise of many experts. The skepticism of the alliance is now likely to have subsided, as it was able to achieve very good results in the evaluation. The reviewers were particularly struck by the stable contribution level. In the last ten years, health insurance only had to increase its contributions twice. In 2000 and 2005, Allianz only slightly increased its tariff contributions. This pleases above all customers, as massive contribution increases are a major shortcoming of private health insurance.

Only half of all suppliers participated
There are currently about 45 private health insurance companies in Germany (number from 2009). Not even half of all providers took part in the PKV map report. This year, 16 companies presented their data. However, the number of participants has been steadily increasing for years. Next year, further insurance companies want to participate.

PKV Report for 20 years
The map report has been re-created every year since 1990. The focal points of the analyzes are, in particular, service quality and cost effectiveness. Allianz, Alte Oldenburg, Concordia, Debeka, DEVK, DKV, HanseMerkur, HUK-Coburg, Inter, LVM, Provincial, Nürnberger, PAX-Familienfürsorge, R + V, SDK and Signal took part in the current PKV test. With the map-report rating system, a better transparency for customers and providers should be created in order to better differentiate the advantages and disadvantages of the individual providers.

The map report generally offers a balance sheet analysis, which is also called PKV rating. Since 1993, the data of existing and new business contributions are recorded. All results of the rating are available to both providers and consumers alike. However, the results reflect only a partial aspect. Although the decision-making of consumers is supported, in particular tariff and individual services are mostly decisive for choosing the right provider. (Sb)
