Phlox grows worse in dry regions

Phlox grows worse in dry regions / Health News
Phlox prefers rainy, temperate climate
The tall perennial phlox (Phlox paniculata) should be planted in rainy locations in Germany. In its homeland, warm to temperate eastern North America, the asteroid-growing plant grows in sparse forests and rivers. But also in this country the phlox finds good growth conditions. The Federal Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Facilities (BGL) points this out to the news agency "dpa".

New Phlox breeds also tolerate atypical site conditions
The phlox also needs sufficient moisture in the soil in the home garden and a good supply of nutrients. According to the BGL, "the flaming flower, as it is popularly called, is therefore better in the rainy regions of the pre-Alps than in the dry surrounding of Berlin." In the meantime, however, there are "many breeds on the market that are unproblematic even at atypical site conditions."

The phlox is popular with hobby gardeners mainly because of its red to purple flowers, which he owes his name. Phlox is an ancient Greek word meaning flame. (Ag)
