Herbal medicines are not at GKV costs
Traditional herbal medicines do not cost GKV
03/19/2014
If the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) is concerned, traditional herbal medicines will no longer be reimbursed at the expense of statutory health insurance (SHI).
The G-BA demands that the group of traditional herbal medicines should no longer be reimbursed by the SHI. In addition to the traditionally used medicinal products, they should be listed in supplemental Appendix III No. 19 of the Medicines Directive. The paragraph governs the regulation restrictions and exclusions. The opinion procedure is already running.
For traditional herbal medicines there is a special simplified registration procedure. From the point of view of the G-BA, it needs to be clarified that a registration can not be granted for registered traditional herbal medicinal products and therefore these medicinal products do not meet the minimum quality and safety requirements for the insured's drug supply (§ 31 (1) S.1 SGB V). They would therefore have to be excluded from the supply. (Pm)
