In Germany, diabetes mellitus type 2 is spreading more and more rapidly. The risk of developing it is increased, among other things, by increased blood sugar levels and obesity. The diabetes expert Sven-David Müller gives in his new book valuable tips on disease prevention using certain foods.
Antidiabetic effect
More and more people in Germany are suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus. About six million Germans are affected by it. Causes of the disease are a genetic predisposition, obesity, high blood sugar and lack of exercise. Certain food ingredients that have an antidiabetic (blood sugar level-lowering) effect can help lower blood sugar, reduce weight and prevent diabetes mellitus or optimize diabetes treatment. Corresponding ingredients are found in rhubarb, apples, cinnamon, ginger and garlic.
Suicide with knife and fork
Nutrition and diet expert Sven-David Müller (Master of Science in Applied Nutritional Medicine) describes in his new book „The 50 best blood sugar killers“ some of the health-promoting foods or ingredients. He himself has been successfully using the effects of apples, cinnamon, zinc and chromium for many years, having been suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus since 1977. „For many people, eating habits can only be defined as 'suicide with a knife and fork'“, so the author. The effects would then be treated with medication.
Federal State Dickland
Müller criticizes that it is regrettable that the drug costs for obese type 2 diabetics are even taken over by the health insurance companies, because the disease can be cured by a slight weight loss, some natural blood sugar killer and some exercise in the rule. Obesity has become a mass phenomenon of affluent society in the Federal Republic of Dickland. And the health insurance pays for everything, complains the author.
Effects of cinnamon are concealed
The nutrition expert also criticizes the power of the pharmaceutical industry and many physicians would simply ignore the effects of cinnamon for the prevention and treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2. Only recently, the results of a long-term study by the German Institute for Nutritional Research (DifE) were presented, which, among other things, found that the risk of diabetes is increased by sweet soft drinks. Also, the increasing consumption of finished products and alcohol often lead to diet-related diseases such as pathological glucose tolerance or diabetes mellitus. „There are about seven million people living in Germany who are too fat but do not need any medications to treat a condition. Therapy is a change in lifestyle and eating habits“, so the diet expert.
Fat-conscious and high-fiber diet
The majority of diabetics would not need pills or insulin, but exercise, exercise, relaxation and a change in diet. People with high blood sugar levels would benefit from a fat-rich, high-fiber diet combined with as many as possible blood sugar killers such as cinnamon and exercise to counteract illness and the often associated lifelong use of medication. And diabetics could thus permanently improve their values. It should also not be forgotten that diabetes is one of the most common causes of heart attack, kidney failure, blindness and lower limb amputations.
Apple and cinnamon mix is ideal
Because of their high pectin content, apples also have a positive influence on blood sugar and cholesterol levels. In order to become active as a blood sugar killer, three of them a day, raw or cooked, were enough to eat. Since cinnamon also lowers blood lipids and blood sugar levels, a combination of both is ideal and delicious. For example, an apple and oatmeal cereal with sour milk and cinnamon sauce is not only a delicious breakfast for diabetics. People who do not like cinnamon could use cinnamon concentrates from the pharmacy.
Ginger increases insulin sensitivity
The insulin sensitivity can be increased by gingerol, a component of ginger. The Asian root can be used both in the cold and in the warm kitchen or drink in the form of a tea. Sven-David Müller has summarized in his guide the 50 best blood sugar killers. The list ranges from apples to legumes to Yacon. The author, who was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his efforts in diabetes and nutrition education in 2005, explains how insulin regulates the blood sugar level in the body, what is meant by diabetes mellitus, and how types 1 and 2 differ from each other.
