Patients often do not feel taken seriously by doctors when they criticize hospital treatment. This was the result of a recent representative Forsa survey commissioned by the Schön Klinikgruppe. 72 percent of respondents also stated that it was particularly important to them that their hospital „in-depth experience“ with regard to her illness.
One in five criticizes treatment
According to the Forsa survey, about one in five (18 percent) confronts his doctor with criticism of the treatment. However, only 38 percent feel that their complaint is taken seriously. Overall, 21 percent of men are more likely to criticize hospital treatment than 15 percent of women.
In addition to in-depth experience of the disease are for 47 percent of respondents „modern medical technology“ and for 25 percent „Friendly rooms“ very important. Seventy-six percent of respondents also said that they would check with their doctor, 66 percent in personal interviews and 54 percent on the Internet about the quality of a hospital.
The polling firm Forsa has interviewed 500 Germans aged 40 to 70 who have had hospital treatment within the past five years. (Ag)
