Suffering is often due to an unhealthy lifestyle. Experts have now investigated where people tend to live unhealthily. The result surprised.
Reduce risk of developing life-threatening diseases
A recent WHO report shows that measures to control the spread of noncommunicable diseases were inadequate. Governments around the world should be pressured to tackle the global health crisis.
Newly published maps highlight and highlight the healthy and unhealthy countries of the world where residents must change their lifestyle to reduce their risk of developing life-threatening diseases.
The maps were created by the British portal "Clinic Compare". The data comes from the WHO and other health organizations. The evaluation took place against the background of the factors alcohol consumption, tobacco consumption and the rate of obesity in the population.
The ranks for each country were then averaged to determine which population is exposed to the greatest health threat from harmful behaviors.
The unhealthiest country in the world is in the middle of Europe
It turned out that the inhabitants of the Czech Republic - according to the mentioned factors - live most unhealthily. Alcohol consumption in the traditional nation is one of the highest in the world at 13.7 liters per year in pure alcohol.
In addition, the country ranks 11th in tobacco use worldwide. And that although the Czech Republic has one of the strictest tobacco laws in the EU.
In second and third most unhealthy countries are Russia and Slovenia. In the top ten, except for nations from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, only Luxembourg and the USA landed. The latter mainly because of the high number of obese people in the country.
Only three health factors rated
Germany is in the top third of all evaluated factors.
Afghanistan was the least healthy country in the world, followed by Guinea and Niger. In the "Top Ten" here are only nations from Africa and Asia. Some of them are among the poorest in the world.
It must be reiterated that the statistics only assessed the factors of alcohol and tobacco consumption and obesity.
Due to poverty, the latter does not play a major role in many countries - this also applies to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. (Ad)
