New trend food pegane diet no longer eat oils and legumes

At present, a new dietary trend is spreading: Pegan, a combination of Paleo and Vegan. This diet is particularly suitable for flexitarians, because meat is allowed here. The focus is on as natural as possible, untreated food. However, oils and legumes should be avoided.
More people pay attention to a healthy diet
More and more people are looking for a balanced, healthy diet. Many follow special nutrition programs or are at least inspired by them. Above all, the renunciation of meat or animal products is widespread. In Germany around one million people live vegan. In recent months, the so-called Paleo diet found more followers. The basic idea is to eat, above all, what prehistoric men had consumed in the Stone Age. This diet is therefore also called "Stone Age diet" or "Stone Age nutrition". Now there is a mixture of both: the pegane diet.

Unprocessed and fresh ingredients
Like so many nutrition trends, "Pegan" comes from the US. This nutritional form relies entirely on unprocessed and fresh ingredients. As it says in the current issue of "Vebumagazin" (01/2017), the combination of Paleo and vegan diet, especially nuts, fruits, vegetables and seeds on the plate. However, even animal products do not have to be completely banned.
Nutrient-rich and healthy
An advantage of the peganen diet is that the diet is often nutrient-rich and healthy. However, there are also some critical rules, such as that finished whole grains, many vegetable oils and healthy legumes are banned.
Therefore, the authors recommend - and also with a view to the enjoyment - rather a middle ground. Therefore, it is better to treat yourself to a vegan chocolate bar, seitan schnitzel or a glass of red wine. (Ad)
