New hygiene guideline for psychotherapists

New hygiene guideline for psychotherapists / Health News
The Competence Center for Hygiene and Medical Devices of the Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Federation of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians has developed a hygiene guideline for psychotherapeutic practices, which is specially tailored to the needs of these practices.

Every facility that supplies sick people has a duty to provide infection control and prevent the spread of pathogens. Due to this legal mandate, there are also occasions in psychotherapeutic practices that require certain hygiene standards.

In addition to the hygiene topics that apply to every practice, such as hand and surface hygiene, the guide also addresses hygiene aspects in connection with the use of medical devices, such as biofeedback devices. It also deals with the specificities of the therapy of severely ill patients (for example oncology patients), up to the hygiene requirements, which must be observed for the protection of potential employees. The guide can be found here. (Pm)
