New study Overworked mothers often have sick children

Studies: Overworked mothers often have sick children
According to experts, congested women are also more likely to have sick children. This shows a new data collection, which has now been presented. Thus, about two-thirds of the children who were taking a cure with their mother also needed treatment.
Overworked mothers with sick children
Sleep disorders, stress, anxiety, physical complaints such as headaches or tiredness: Increasing workload and taking over family responsibilities mean that more and more mothers are becoming increasingly exhausted and need to be treated. This also has enormous health effects on their offspring, because overloaded mothers have in the opinion of experts often sick children. This is the result of data from the Müttergenerationwerk (MGW), which were presented on Tuesday in Berlin.

Fatigue, even burnout
As the DGW announced in a press release, around 50,000 mothers who participated in a mother-and-child course at the Maternal Welfare Center in 2014 suffer from over 80 percent of exhaustion or even burnout. Of the approximately 72,000 accompanying children, two-thirds also needed treatment. The diseases of children are often associated with stressful family situations. For example, many mothers are still the main persons responsible for family work in a permanent congestion situation with time pressure and high expectations.
"Weakening the social system family"
According to MGW, about one in four children (26 percent) had respiratory problems. Mental disorders (23 percent) also increase, for example behavioral problems, emotional disorders or ADHD. In addition, illness-causing family situations (18 percent) are often added, such as separation and grief or even experiences of violence. The board of trustees Dagmar Ziegler, MdB explained: "Mothers are greatly overloaded by the large number of requirements and expectations. The constant back-and-forth between children, household and work has become a Bermuda triangle for mothers, in which their own needs are lost, they become ill. The consequence is the weakening of the social system "family" and thus of the children. "
Sustainable effect on mother and child
The managing director MGW, Anne Schilling, added: "The maternal-specific concept of the spa measures of the maternal healing work takes into account the mother-child relationship. We know that the treatment of mothers and children interact and are directly related to the health of children. The individual development of strategies suitable for everyday use during the course of treatment in order to minimize pathogenic factors as well as the follow-up offers have a lasting effect on mother and child.
