New recommendations for diabetic neuropathy
27/02/2013
The German Diabetes Association (DDG) has published new recommendations for diabetic neuropathy. Main topic is the pain relief with nerve damage.
"About 13 to 26 percent of people with diabetes have a painful neuropathy," explains the writing team. Corresponding to the importance of this topic, they therefore cover all aspects of peripheral and autonomic diabetic neuropathies on ten pages of the report. From definition and risk factors to screening, basic and advanced diagnostics to differential diagnoses and treatment strategies, you'll find everything essential in the report.
Particularly helpful are the clearly arranged questionnaires and tables with compact overviews of diagnostic criteria, (neurological) examination methods and treatment options. The recommendations can be found here. (Pm)
