The use of preparations of hawthorn leaves with flowers is common in Germany in phytotherapy. However, your application will now be limited by the new HMPC monograph.

The Commission E monograph envisaged an application of diminishing cardiac output according to NYHA NYHA (New York Heart Association) stage.

Based on new data from clinical trials and the re-evaluation by the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), this application is no longer up-to-date.

The monograph of the HMPC now provides only a traditional application in quite generalized application areas. Read more in the current "Bulletin on Drug Safety" of the BfArM and the Paul Ehrlich Instut. (Pm)
