The Foundation German Pollen Information Service and the University of Vienna have the App „check mites“ developed for mite allergy sufferers. With the free offer, allergy sufferers can find out if their symptoms indicate a mite allergy. Although the app does not replace a medical diagnosis, but can give initial indications.
App and online portal „check mites“
„MittenCheck offers a risk questionnaire, a diary and a mite stress map to help those affected and makes it easier to determine the symptoms of the allergologically-trained specialist“, informs the Foundation German Pollen Information Service in a communication. With tips on the topic of mite allergy, the offer could help to improve the quality of life of those affected. The contents of the app are based on scientific findings.
Mites Check is accompanied by an online portal, which also provides useful information for allergy sufferers. „Both the online portal and the application have a simple menu navigation and clearly structured chapters. They help the user to document, better understand and deal with the allergy in daily life, at work or at school“, it says in the message. The goal is it, „To recognize the disease early, to encourage the exact clarification of the symptoms of a visit to an allergologically trained specialist and to enable rapid therapy.“ (Ag)
